Anna Silk is a Fredericton native, the daughter Peter Silk, who was an academic. The mother of her, Ilkay Silk, had a diverse range of abilities, which included the ability to act, direct and produce plays, as well as write them as well as teach and serve as Director of Drama at St. Thomas University. Her father hails from Britain as does her mother, who is the "Turkish ex-pat from Cyprus who is now living in England." Anna's first memories include attending play rehearsals and watching her mother's working. In her early years, Anna appeared in several commercials. In the month of November, 1999 Anna made the move to Toronto to advance her acting career, eventually moving into Los Angeles, California, during the decade that followed. Seth Cooperman, whom she was introduced to at an Los Angeles actors' workshop earlier in 2007, was her partner in 2009. Anna became a Jew in 2011, after she converted to Judaism. They were married civilly in December of that year and then renewed their vows at a Jewish ceremony held in Fredericton, in April 2011. Bo's relationship to Lauren (played by Zoie Palmer) was featured on CNN's list of the top favorite TV Couples as well as named the most popular Television Couple of 2013 by E! Entertainment Television. The success of the show has led to Anna building a large followers on social media.
